This work-in-progress takes acarnivalesque view of the world as its starting point.

Play largely goes unremarked in many lives yet for some, it is through play they are defined. For others it is a release from the everyday.

The medieval practice of carnival was a time when ordinary folk could overturn the everyday. Eccentric behaviour, bawdiness and the sacrilegious were all sanctioned by an all-powerful church in the short period before Lent.

Today, such play occurs everywhere, at any time.
